The following checklist identifies factors which Whythawk examines during an investigation into any development organisation: - Is the organisation a start-up or an established entity?
- If finance is to be raised is it for a project or to refinance existing debt?
- What is the sense of community at the entity?
- What is the calibre of the board of trustees and / or management?
- How in-depth are operations?
- Is demand amply demonstrated?
- Are utilisation rates normal?
- What is the entity's financial position and expected performance?
- How well does the entity perform under various stress scenarios?
- Are financial ratios well balanced?
- Are clients / beneficiaries materially better off after the interventions of the organisation?
- How effective is the intervention of the organisation relative to its peers?
