Speaking in terms of individual freedom and a globalized economy, migration for work is actually helpful, since it matches talent and needs. But brain drain is a major cause of lack of progress in developing and third world nations. What needs to be done is fair restitution. If the country gets back enough remittances and even a percentage of the emigrants come back to help build the country, it works fine.
